Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information and help for our customers...

To all our customers,

During this difficult time, we understand spending so much time at home can be very isolating and even slightly claustrophobic. Which is why we understand that many of you are resorting  to spend the majority of this time in your gardens. 

We are still taking both online and telephone orders, whilst delivering goods as usual however also taking the necessary precautions to protect our customers and staff. So if your garden isn't quite the escape you need right now, we can help. 

For those who have  existing order enquries or general queries, our amazing sales team are now taking calls from their homes to get these answered for you.

Recent FAQ'S...

Can I still order online?

Yes. We are following the advice of Public Health England (PHE) and are still making deliveries for online and telephone orders. We have always been an online only garden store and you can place your order with us just as you usually would. Please allow time for any product or order enquiries to be answered as we are currently recieving a higher number of enquiries than usual.  

Can I still receive deliveries from you?

Yes. Public Health England (PHE) has advised that receiving parcels does not put you at risk of contracting the coronavirus (COVID-19).  However , please do follow the well-publicised guidance for washing your hands & where possible, please stick to the social distancing rules by staying atleast two metres away from our drivers.

Should I be concerned about touching an order I’ve received?

Public Health England have said that there’s no current evidence to suggest that the virus can be transmitted from packages. 

What do I do if I want to have contact-free delivery?

We are trying to ensure all our deliveries are contact free, if you have any particular concerns please raise it with our staff when placing your order or when we call you to arrange delivery.  For smaller items our couriers are also making contact free deliveries.

Are deliveries running on time?

We are doing everything we can to keep operations running smoothly so that you get what you have ordered as soon as possible. In fact at present, we are very much up to date on deliveries and staying mostly within the usual time frame given. Smaller items are still being dispatched by courier within the usual 48HR time frame. However, as you may understand some orders may take a little longer due to logistics or stock. For further information on delivery please read our delivery page.   Please refrain from contacting us in regards to your delivery, we will contact you.

Can I still receive larger items?

Yes. However, our delivery drivers are now being advised not to enter customer properties and due to the distancing restrictings, we are only permitting one employee per van. This means larger items unforunately cannot be carried around to gardens as usual. If the items are not able to be carried off of the van by one individual, due to health and safety, these items may have to wait until we feel it is safe enough for our employees to share a van together. You will be contacted if this is the case with your item. 

If I’m isolating, how do I return a product?

Our returns policy is 14 days. If you are self-isolating and need to return something, please get in touch with our customer services team within 14 days of receipt and we will do our best to help you. Please see our returns information page for instructions on how to return items.

For smaller items, as usual, you can send them back to us by courier at your own cost. For larger items, as usual we are still offering home collections where possible and  can arrange this for you by getting in touch with us. 

How are GFC making sure employees are safe?

We have put the following steps in place to protect our valued team at GFC:

  • We are following the guidance of the UK Government and the NHS in our office and warehouses to protect our colleagues and agencies.
  • We have suspended all unnceccary business travel. 
  • We are providing resources, like hand sanitiser, to help employees work safely & ensuring they adhere to the government guidelines.  
  • The majority of our staff are now working from home, with resources provided by ourselves. 
  • We have set up methods of communication for our colleagues to keep in touch, stay connected and up to date with the relevant information and advice.
  • We are ensuring our delivery and warehouse staff take the proper pre-cautions & ensure zero or minimal contact where possible amongst themselves & our customers. 

How can I keep in touch?

Our Customer Care Team is on hand to answer any of your questions or you can find us on Instagram & Facebook where we’ll be sharing our updates. Please note that the best of way of getting in touch with us during this very busy time is via email. All our customer services staff are now working from home or attending the office by themselves, and this naturally can cause delays in responding to your calls – but they are doing the very best they can to help you.

Closing Our Showroom Doors... 

Unfortunately, following on from the recent update from Boris, our showroom doors are now shut! We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this but at this time, the safety of our customers & employees are most important to us.

But don't worry as we will still be operating online as usual! We will also be allowing customers to phone us from home if they require assistance.

Delivery Update Admist COVID-19... 

Whilst we remain fully operational and open for business as usual, the health of our customers, staff and drivers is of the utmost importance to us- especially during this time.

As a result, we have today advised our drivers to restrict as much as possible the amount of customer contact when making deliveries or collections.

In order to protect both our employees and customers as much as possible, we will not be handing over delivery notes for signatures. Instead, the drivers will log the name of the person accepting the delivery.

Drivers are not permitted to enter customers property, so unless side or rear access is possible, goods will be delivered to the door step.

As finance order delivery notes require a signature, we are still handling paperwork but all drivers have been made aware to sanitise before and after coming into contact with paperwork. They have also been advised to keep a safe distance from the customer.

Business As Usual... 

We would just like to let you all know that it's business as usual at GFC! - At least for now. 

So, for those of you who are wanting to come visit us, we would like to reassure you, our showroom is very open plan (our large shutters are fully open to the front of the showroom bringing in plenty of fresh air), we have automatic doors (no need to touch any door handles!) and we are doing our best to clean & disinfect the showroom on a daily basis.

However, if you are in complete self isolation, don't forget that all of our furniture is on our website & deliveries are running as normal.

Delivery Pre-cautions...

During this time, it's very important to keep both our employees and customers safe. Therefore we have put together some new pre-caution guidelines for our deliveries. (Please note, this is only relevant for our own deliveries NOT by courier).

  • Drivers are now lone delivering in order to stay within the social distancing guidelines. 
  • Drivers are not permitted to enter customers property, so unless side or rear access is possible, goods will be delivered to the door step. Please be sure to note this when ordering large/heavy items..
