About Big Green Egg
Starting in the 1970s, founder Ed Fisher decided to expand his summer showroom by purchasing Japanese kamado grills. He started using the grills to cook delicious food outside the front of his showroom which caught the attention of the Deep South locals. With this, he decided to focus his attention on kamado grills but it became difficult to control the design and import to keep up with demand. Instead, he decided to build his own grills which is where Big Green Egg began.
What is Big Green Egg?
Following the design and structure of a Japanese kamado grill, the Big Green Egg is a lightweight, heat-resistant barbeque finished with its infamous deep green casing that has revolutionised the culinary world. They can withstand both extremely high and low temperatures with a weatherproof casing so you can cook outdoors whatever the weather!
With two vents, this allows you to have full control over the temperature whilst having the additional benefit of a ceramic plate where you can change between direct and indirect heat. This primarily gives you endless cooking possibilities such as grilling, roasting, baking, smoking and more!
