Long, Hand Carved Turns …
Single pieces of Mango Hardwood are used for this stand-out design that’s a work of art as well as a side table. Each one made is unique.
Eco-friendly, Mango Hardwood from Northern Thailand …
Mango tree’s are only harvested for furniture making after they have reached the end of their fruit-bearing life.
Normally these trees would be destroyed so by making furniture out of them local crafts men and women avoid needless waste and reduce de-forestation elsewhere across Indonesia.
Spalting is found naturally in Mango tree’s - it is this that gives the kaleidoscope effect of the colours you see in the wood – the golden-brown centre-wood sandwiched by the lighter, creamy yellow outer wood. In some pieces you get red flecks as well.
The inner-grain of the wood is evident both in the top platform and the upward turned base and gives an attractive parity to the design.
Looks great in anywhere in the home …
The skills required to carve this sort of table can only be admired – the wood is kiln-dried when the tables are finished and this gives a smooth finish to design that’s more than worth the price you pay.
Felt pads on the underside of the base offer extra protection and we deliver them free and in pristine condition.

Please note that movement such as small cracks in the surface of your furniture is normal and part of the nature of the wood.

Looks great in my hallway with a vase of flowers on it. I needed something taller than a side table but not as wide as a consul table and this is perfect. It is lovely quality and carved from one piece of timber and quite heavy. I am confident that it would remain standing if someone accidently bumped into it. (Posted on 26/03/2016)
