Teak Bench FAQs

Why is teak the best?

Teak is naturally oily, meaning it requires no treatment to preserve it. The wood protects and preserves itself, making it one of the most durable outdoor timbers available.

How is the bench made?

Our benches are crafted using traditional mortice and tenon joints secured with teak dowels. We do not use bolts, as these can loosen or degrade over time.

Will my bench come assembled?

Yes. All our teak benches are delivered fully assembled by our own vehicles—no flat packs or self-assembly required.

Can my teak bench stand on grass?

Yes. Teak is extremely durable and can be placed on either a hard surface or grass without issue.

Should I use teak oil?

No. We advise against using teak oil, as it can attract mildew and cause black spots to form on the wood.

How do I maintain my teak bench?

No maintenance is required, teak naturally preserves itself. However, if you prefer to slow down the weathering process and maintain a golden colour, we offer a range of Golden Care water-based products.

How do I clean my bench?

You can clean your bench with hot soapy water and a brush, or use our Golden Care Teak Cleaner. A jet wash can also be used, but we recommend a light sanding once dry to restore the surface.

Can I engrave my teak bench?

Yes. We offer a professional laser engraving service with a choice of fonts. Logos and high resolution images can also be engraved. Please note only benches with a flat section can be engraved as it needs to go through the machine.

Are the teak benches suitable for commercial use?

Yes. Many of our teak benches are designed for commercial environments. For extra strength, we recommend models with thicker leg and back constructions (6x6cm or 7x7cm).

Can the bench be attached to the ground?

Yes. We offer both soft-ground anchor systems and hard-surface anchor kits to securely fix your bench and prevent theft.

The FSC® label means piece of mind. It is an assurance that for every tree felled at least one more is allowed to grow in its place reducing the rate of deforestation across the world. FSC plantations also guarantee fair wages and proper skills training for indigenous workforces who have previously lived in poverty with sub-standard working conditions.

Recycled/Eco Benches and Picnic Sets:

Our GRC Garden Benches perfectly demonstrate some of the most advanced technologies in recycled bench manufacturing today. Made of Glass Reinforced Concrete, (GRC), they look exactly like wood even down to the detail of the grain. Plus they take minutes to clean, are environmentally friendly and incredibly hard wearing.

Classic Picnic Tables:

Many of these are made in the classic Pub Style and in a range of different sizes and timber sorts. We also sell round picnic tables in a variety of styles and sizes perfect for a close-knit family gathering of Alfresco dining.
