Our Furniture on ITV - Love Your Garden.
We’re proud to have our furniture featured on ITV’s, ‘Love Your Garden’ with Alan Titchmarsh.
All the programmes in the series have been excellent so far in the way they offer benefit and give something back to people who really appreciate having a great garden space.
How did we get the opportunity at ITV’s, Love Your Garden?
It all started at RHS Chelsea Flower Show this year.
We have Trade Stands at all the major RHS Shows throughout the year and our Mighty Apple Day Bed always takes pride of place and ends up being a real crowd-puller with it being such an impressive piece of furniture.
Unbeknown to us a guy called James Ebdon – a landscaper working on the, Love Your Garden Show - was at Chelsea with half an eye on sourcing a piece of quality furniture with that, ‘WOW Factor,’ to feature in his episode.
Our Day Bed won him over hands down and he approached us to see if we’d be willing to donate one to the show.
Which, of course, we were.
We like to support a worthy cause …
We run many competitions at The Garden Furniture Centre to win various pieces of furniture and make a difference to worthy causes.
A good recent example of this is the Tree Bench that was donated toFairfields School.
Therefore, when we discovered that the Apple Day Bed was to appear on the episode in memory of Alice Pyne.
Since Alice passed away her parents – Vicky and Simon – and 14 year old sister Milly have carried on Alice’s fantastic work around cancer awareness.
This has meant their garden has suffered neglect so Alan and the team did a complete makeover on the show – 13th August – co-ordinating it in Alice’s favourite colours.
In lasting memory of Alice …
James Ebdon was also looking for a Memorial Bench to put in the garden as a heart-warming tribute to the memory of Alice for the family to cherish.
We jumped at the opportunity to get our Laser Engraving facility involved with this as well and duly supplied a Rustic Garden Bench inscribed with the words …
‘ONE LIFE – LIVE IT.’
Jon Haimes, Managing Director at The Garden Furniture Centre said …
“It’s great to be involved with such a good cause. The work Alice and her family have, and still do take part in for cancer awareness is invaluable – it’s an honour to be part of it and help commemorate Alice’ memory in any way we can.”
