Water Hyacinth Furniture – The New Rattan?
Water Hyacinth Furniture?
It may sound strange, but all you have to do is take a look at something like our Monte Carlo Suite and all of a sudden it’s not that strange at all …
It’s just quite simply – beautiful.
It’s similar to natural rattan but much softer and it offers a far more modern and contemporary feel to the indoor furniture it is woven into as opposed to the more traditional style of indoor rattan furniture that can be found on the market today.
Especially when you add the high spec cushions in a range of different fabric colours that you see on our suites.
If you’re looking for a sofa suite to compliment modern, chic décor then you have to at least consider Water Hyacinth as an option – you’re missing out if you don’t.
Take a look at the video below for some background on how it’s made …
The skills required to produce such a high quality, plaited weave are not found everywhere. These skills are passed down and refined through family generations ensuring the highest quality and attention to detail every single time.
Eco-friendly as well …
Water Hyacinth grows rapidly across many parts of Indonesia to the point where it can often clog waterways, providing a barrier to communications and causing environmental concerns at the same time.
Therefore, by harvesting it, drying the stems and then weaving them into a modern brand of furniture the manufacturers are helping the environment at the same time.
To ensure the highest quality standards are met and to check we are using morally sound suppliers we regularly visit the manufacturing units we buy from overseas to conduct audits on their premises.
Below are some pictures from one of our recent trips. These outline the manufacturing process at the same time.
