Monkey Hear …
No evil …
This is superbly hand carved from hardwood and the craftsperson gives the monkey real character plus a slight comic appeal when you consider the slender face and smiling eyes.
The representation is Kikazaru covering his ears and is inspired by the famous Japanese proverb, ‘See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil.’
The carving is intentionally made to look and feel rustic and will be a real talking point with family and friends when they visit you.
As a place to store drinks books, magazines, ornaments and the like it works handsomely and can even be used as a handy little perch for someone.
There’s a good sturdy table top resting on Kikazaru’s head which is smoothed on the top with a spiralling grain effect that’s highlighted by the light resin finish.
We also have Speak no evil and See no evil tables along with one that combines the three elements of the proverb into one table carving.

Please note that movement such as small cracks in the surface of your furniture is normal and part of the nature of the wood.

lovely piece of furniture.it was a shame it "defrosted" in our house after delivery as it had obviously been stored over night on one of the coldest nights of the year without packaging . it arrived damp and took a couple of days to dry out. very pleased with my "dry" table, (Posted on 11/09/2013)
