90cm Square Table and Chairs …
A 90cm Square Reclaimed Teak Table with 4 hand Woven Kubu Armchairs …
Kubu Rattan grows on the forest floor making it thicker than the vine rattan that is more commonly seen. It is then soaked in clay dried and cleaned off to give it the light grey, rustic appeal that makes the seating so attractive in this set.
However, Kubu is still supple enough to be manipulated by expert weavers into stunning items of furniture like the armchairs with this square table set.
Their striking design is enhanced by the braided edges along the armrests and backs of the chairs that add regal character to the overall design.
The kubu Rattan is woven round solidly constructed cane frames with plastic caps on the feet.
The reddish lustre of the teak combines superbly well with light grey-brown of the kubu chairs to offer a rustic style dining indoor dining set.
The reconditioned teak table is, again, hand finished using mortice and tenon joints and has a lime wash applied that highlights the grain to great effect, particularly along the table top itself.
